According to TheSunDevils.com: The Sun Devils women’s basketball upset No. 15 Kentucky 73-71 in overtime on Sunday, Dec. 11.
The 2-point win was due to a shot from senior Sophie Brunner with 5.5 seconds left. Brunner also lead the Devils in scoring with 18 points, 16 of which were in the second half and overtime. She had a career-high six assists as well.
Other Devils who had strong performances in the game were senior Quinn Dornstauder who scored 15 points and freshman Reili Richardson with 12 points and six assists. It was Richardson’s first career start. Senior Kelsey Moos led the Devils with 10 rebounds while scoring seven points, as well as two blocks and two steals. Sophomore Sabrina Haines scored nine and had four rebounds.
The Sun Devils are now 6-2 for the season and continue their road trip with a game against Middle Tennessee on Tuesday, Dec. 13, before returning to Tempe.
